As an American, I was horrified to learn about this whole vodka eyeballing thing that is 100% not a normal part of the college experience π (at least, not in any colleges me or my friends went toβwho would do that?!)
But I do love this series and the romanticism of simply having a lovely time with someone and letting it be, not forcing it to be more. Itβs kind of romantic and nice all on its own. Also, I now really want a croissant with cheese and tomato.
good to know!! I don't know if the vodka eyeballing habit was maybe born out of some kind of frat party thing but I also don't really know what a frat party is so im kind of just saying words at this point
You totally had me at the B&B para by the way π€£ I'm ROOTING for eye ball man - you spent all that time together having a lovely time - lovely times are so rare - this cannot be the end! So did the vodka do anything positive, like did he seem relaxed or a little tipsy? There's got to be an upside. Thank you for making me laugh again and congratulations on 500 eye balls - well 1,000 actually.
lmao can you imagine!! post five on the blog and ive just turned the whole thing into a romance novel. we had already been at the pub so I wouldn't say the eyeballing specifically had any noticeable impact but test conditions were not optimal for a full and proper assessment. if I was properly dedicated to this project I'd try it myself from a state of sobriety and report back. however, shan't.
Your posts always provide such escapist relief. As a (half) American, I still have my suspicions about this character. I've never heard of vodka eyeballing and I might know a thing or too about the American college experience (how does the game 'eat it, drink it or wear it' sound?).
I'm now tempted to write more on this college experience...
I've been looking forward to your updates for what feels like forever now! How am I so invested so soon?! Love your writing, but mostly love your humor π
yes I got the posting scaries unfortunately lmao. and then I got the checking the comments scaries hence why it took me six days to reply to your lovely comment, thank you! β€οΈ

π€£ it definitely sounds like a frat party thing, but either way, yikes!
Once again your post gives Liz Bennet of the 21st C vibes. Funny and gently sarcastic yet so very human.
omg!!! ππππππ thank you

EYE-COHOL πππ never seen or heard of the vodka eyeballing thing, not even in the movies
Iβm wondering if he tried to do it to somehow impress you
I am now reevaluating everything about the way I present myself incase I do give off 'pouring vodka into your eye will impress me' vibes π
ππ
He sounds VERY American hahaha
Americans in the comments are not familiar with this eyeballing practice but I ALSO thought it seemed very American ππ
